Nawaz Sharif has announced a Rs 341 billion relief package for farmers two days back. The package envisages direct cash assistance to the farmers, relief in prices of agriculture inputs, provision of agriculture loans and simplifying the procedure of loans.

Terming the announcement by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of the Farmers Relief Package as “pre-poll rigging”, Khan stressed that the package should have been awarded in the budget.

Khan said their real battle with government is in Lahore but they have been stopped from campaigning there. Addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, PTI Fata leader Haji Iqbal Afridi accompanied by Dr Jalil, Muhammad Saleem, Syed Ahmad Khan and others said the tribesmen had been deprived of their all constitutional rights, due to the imposition of Frontier Crime Regulation Act in Fata. “We don t have government funds”.

Responding to a question on whether Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) should become a part of the K-P, Imran said that the people of Fata would first need to be consulted.

“All the powers of the LG have been deputed to provincial governments and the Chief Minister enjoys all the powers while LG representatives are powerless”, he added. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission, he said, launched a probe against provincial minister Ziaullah Afridi without facing any interference from the party. “Nawaz Sharif’s kisaan package is the biggest pre-poll rigging”, he said.

“We are also improving KP bureaucracy, introduced model Local Bodies system in the province”, he said. He said that PPP Co-Chairperson and former president Asif Ali Zardari and company ran away to Dubai under the apprehensions that he might be held on the massive corruption charges.
