The Motorola DROID Turbo’s journey from KitKat to Lollipop has definitely been one full of frustration and anger.

Last year, more than a few thousand people were surprised to see Motorola launch another Verizon-exclusive at that time of the year.

So with those impressive credentials by the Motrola Droid Turbo, could we be seeing the successor in a couple of months? The speculated Moto DROID Turbo 2015 seemed to be gearing up to top last year’s Motorola DROID Turbo. We don’t know anything about the specs or anything like that.

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ are widely expected to be officially unveiled at the Unpacked event taking place on August 13, now a new leak is confirming their names.

Nothing is official until Verizon and Motorola announce it themselves, but it sounds like a device very similar to the Moto X Play could arrive in October as the DROID Turbo 2. This tells us that the device could be announced earlier than the launch of Android M, which is during the final quarter of the year. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ appears to be a Galaxy Note sized device, but with the curved edges, which is a nice thing to have.

Just in case you aren’t aware, the Droid Turbo featured a 5.2-inch Quad-HD display, a powerful quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM, a 20.7 megapixel camera, and a 3,900 mAh battery. Of course, it was nothing at first since those that got it had so many problems with it, but when everything started to settle down they were still left out.

Costco is reportedly planning a smartphone lineup that includes Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, along with Motorola’s Droid Turbo 2, under the Verizon network.

It looks like Costco is going to be offering Verizon’s version of the Note 5 in black and white with 32GB of storage, while the S6 edge+ will also be stocked in its 64GB iteration, in the same color versions. The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge will also be constructed with the new metal and glass design of the current flagship smartphones.
