Rankin County is taking an aggressive approach to fighting mosquitoes after some of the insects tested positive for West Nile virus.
“With confirmation that West Nile virus is in the community, everyone needs to follow the recommendations for protecting yourself from mosquito bites”, Pour said in a statement.
There have been two confirmed human cases of the virus in Mississippi this year.
Symptoms of West Nile include headache, fever, fatigue, dizziness, weakness and confusion.
