Tech savvy Modi and self-made billionaire Zuckerberg will be participating in a Townhall Q&A on Sunday, September 27 at 10 pm IST/9:30 am pst (Pacific standard time).
Shri Narendra Modi, has accepted the invitation by the founder and CEO of Facebook.Inc, Mr. Mark Zuckerberg, for a Q&A session at the Facebook Townhall. This will be Modi’s maiden visit at the company’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California. “I dream of a digital India where government is open and governance is transparent”, Modi said in his address on July 1.
PM Modi’s trip to the USA this September will be his second – his first visit was in September previous year, during which he had addressed the UN General Assembly, met a host of industry leaders and was given what was later called a “rockstar reception” at the Madison Square Gardens. “That’s on objective. We want our space to feel like a work in progress”.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Amazon.com’s Jeff Bezos and Microsoft’s Satya Nadella have all visited India as has Zuckerberg’s top lieutenant Sheryl Sandberg.
While this is a matter of great pride for the country and for the PM himself, considering India boasts of the largest user base for Facebook outside the United States, it’ll also be interesting to see what the two are upto when they come face to face at the Facebook headquarters.
