Microsoft today released its first cumulative update for Windows 10 which brings non-security improvements to enhance functionality. The company also now leans on its own apps and services more than ever, going so far as putting them on competing platforms like iOS and Android too.
In previous versions of Windows (and now in Mac OS X), it asks if you want to set it as default the first time you use a browser different from the built-in one. Watch for your notification from the Get Windows 10 app to arrive in the coming days or weeks. Windows 10, which is now available in 190 countries, launched globally on July 29. For the uninitiated, Windows 8.1 was offered as a free update for those running Windows 8. It shouldn’t necessarily be affecting your bandwidth, but as a user you have all the right to disable Microsoft using your Internet bandwidth without your explicit permission.
According to the latest Windows Central report, a Microsoft programme manager – Greg exposed that the Microsoft is, in fact, working to get WhatsApp Web support to Edge via his Twitter account.
If you don’t see any Windows 10 icon, Microsoft is advising to run Windows Update and install any available required and recommended updates for your existing Windows 7 or Windows 8 PC.
Cortana only works if “Getting to know you is turned on”. There are no prerequisites for installing the update, and you must restart your PC when the download is complete.
