That’s starting to change, though, thanks to an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal about Lynch’s trip to Turkey. “He was the guy giving the electricity”. But why he was there may be the strangest part of the whole story: He was in Turkey to teach women to play football. Lynch’s portion of the camp required the kids to try and stiff-arm or overpower Lynch and fellow running back, DeAngelo Williams. That makes Lynch’s status something to monitor throughout the rest of the week. But the group quickly discovered that there were flag-football teams associated with universities in Istanbul, and that the women didn’t want to miss a chance to learn from the NFL players.

The 29-year-old running back also didn’t let American Football Without Barriers foot the bill for his accommodations, while players who traveled with him learned that he was not only afraid of heights but also of speaking to the media (as many believed after his interactions with reporters the past few seasons). In fact, you probably didn’t see this one coming: Lynch was in Turkey with an organization called American Football Without Barriers, teaching women the mechanics of the sport.

Lynch’s exploits were “the stuff of legend”, according to Clark. But when TMZ spoke to with Dave Medina who was there with his 13-year-old nephew – he says Lynch got even nastier when the cameras stopped recording.

While Lynch avoids USA media as much as possible, he was candid and forthcoming in the interview, which garnered headlines in America when he told the TV station that he had expected the ball on the goal line in Super Bowl XLIX. “But in life, these things happen”.
