Blackburn spent three nights in the Cumberland Infirmary, while his friend Christian Pay, a motor vehicle maintenance student, was pronounced dead at hospital.

Christian Pay, 18, died after “substance abuse” at the festival in the Lake District.

Blackburn said he hopes his story will keep others from making his same mistake.

Now, to warn others of the unsafe and devastating impact of drugs, Jordan has shared a photo of himself that was taken while he was lying in hospital.

Drugs seized that may be linked to the illnesses include a blue tablet with an Adidas logo, yellow powder believed to be MDMA, and an orange oval tablet with a Rolls-Royce logo. He was placed in a medically-induced coma after falling ill from the various pills, and is now recovering out of the hospital.

Jordan wrote: “Many lives over the weekend, not just those lost, but the familys (sic) of those involved have been destroyed – including my own by the careless use of uppers at festivals, or any other time for that matter”.

She added that Blackburn recognises that he’s been given a second chance at life.

He ended with a message to Chris, and said: “Miss you mate, I’ll make you proud”.

According to BBC News, his mother, Alison Turnbull, said: ‘I thought my world was about to end, I really did.

‘Physically he’s fine. He’s still really exhausted; his body has been through quite a trauma.

“You never [realize] until it’s too late…You never think at that moment it is ever going to happen to you, but unfortunately you learn the hard way”.

“Mentally he’s coping OK, but I think he’s got what I would call survivor’s guilt”, she said.
