Against that backdrop, Strong downplayed the lawsuit this week as a motivating factor for his second-year assistant.

Those decisions have put Texas ahead of schedule offensively, giving this team a chance to steal some big games this season.

They’re happy with him, yes.

“It changes your rush lanes and your contain lanes a little bit”, coach Mike Gundy said.

It’s Texas that fields the young team this year. I don’t believe a national title is in our near future, though.

In the first half against Texas, there were three instances when the Cal secondary made mistakes it eventually fixed later in the game.

So do Big Al and Cayden think the Cowboys will pull off the victory? We don’t know if that’s OSU keeping it vanilla on objective or what. “I try to have the same mindset going into every game”.

As for Williams, he’s the best offensive linemen for Texas right now and has played remarkably consistently so far, so it would be a bigger concern if Ogbah was going against anyone else. The offensive line has had it’s times, but the interior has been pretty ugly. Saturday, the two meet in Austin (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) in a Big 12 opener that could be revealing for both sides. What is it that makes the sophomore so special?

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but it looks like Texas finally has itself a quarterback. Oh and he progresses through reads very well. If Mason Rudolph and the offense can score early, it should kill the crowd and benefit Oklahoma State. In addition, running back Chris Carson hit his stride and played up to expectations following his celebrated transfer from junior college. If the game gets into the shootout most expect, Rudolph will have to be able to match Heard touchdown for touchdown.

Oklahoma State is a five-point favorite in this game and the Over/Under (O/U) is set at 60 points. What happened against the Roadrunners and was that a fluke or a sign that the defense is starting to come together? In this game, disruption will be just as good as production. “I’ll go to all of them over in Stillwater”.

Though Tyrone Swoopes beat out Jerrod Heard in the offseason, he lost his credibility after the disaster against Notre Dame that started the season. The Cowboys have been good at moving the ball, but not consistently great. A few weeks back, I’m all OSU. Oklahoma State’s David Glidden and Texas’ John Burt and Daje Johnson are big-play threats for a pair of offenses that like to throw the ball deep. Heard is more than that. And then the Longhorns scored another touchdown. “You see the loss and you don’t want that to be overshadowed because he played an unbelievable game”.

CRFF OK, let’s get this one out of the way. I’m picking Oklahoma State 31-24.
