As it turns out, awesomeness isn’t always logical. Except here on the LX there are added aesthetic “brackets” for each slat in the grille versus other applications of the design in the brand’s lineup. First, the LX gets a new front grill sporting the latest iteration of the hugely successful spindle design. More interior colours will be offered, too. This refresh takes care of both of those issues. The 2016 LX 570 gets a larger 12.3-inch navigation screen, bigger 4.2-inch instrument cluster, panoramic view camera and multimedia with Remote Touch Interface.
The LX570 carries on with a time-tested 5.7-liter V8 engine that makes 383 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 403 foot-pounds of torque at 3,600 rpm. Mated to this engine is an eight-speed automatic.
“The new GS Line including GS 200t continue Lexus’ product-led strategy, delivering with confident new styling, performance, technology and luxury features”, Lexus Australia chief executive Sean Hanley said.
On a gorgeous estate overlooking Monterey Bay, between plates of chicken fried lobster and bacon-wrapped duck (cooked with great zeal by Dallas master chef Dean Fearing), Lexus matched the culinary gluttony with automotive gluttony, lifting the sheet on the gargantuan beast known as the LX. The GS 200t will be rear-wheel drive only. The system can split 50:50 when necessary. The system also controls responses of the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS), which continually adjusts shock absorber damping rates while driving, helping to ensure optimal comfort even as the road surface changes.
That said, its available safety and convenience feature set is pretty impressive-including things like a head-up display, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Intelligent High Beam, and Intuitive Park Assist.
The Lexus LX 570 might not be the most logical vehicle for sale in the U.S. right now, but with this redesign, Lexus is at least making a stronger case to buy it over the rest of the LX 570’s illogical-but-awesome competition. Pretty LuXurious don’t you think? The new 2016 Lexus IS 200t will supplant the outgoing Lexus IS 250 as the base model for the luxury sport sedan, housing a new 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine.
