The occasion was also the perfect opportunity for her to show off her chic new hairstyle.
In addition to wearing bangs, Kate’s hair color looked lighter and more auburn than her usual chestnut brown.
Besides being passionate about photography, the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, is also fond of drawing as it is revealed that she has drawn portraits of her children.
Thursday’s visit indicates Catherine’s interest in child mental health issues and the significance of early intervention and working with the whole family to provide children with in-school mental health services. She later on became familiar with the Anna Freud Family School Center and their programs.
And no, I wasn’t back to my “pre baby weight”.
Her mother Vicki, 43, who like all the parents was only known by her first name, said: “The school just doesn’t support the children, it’s the parents as well, they do a lot”.
The Duchess greeted Michael Samuel, chairman of the trustees of the Anna Freud Centre, with a warm embrace upon her arrival.
The centre, which began life in 1941, is named after Anna Freud, a pioneer of child psychoanalysis and daughter of psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. In 1952 she founded The Hampstead Clinic, the first child psychoanalytic centre for observational research, teaching and learning and it was renamed in her honour when she died.
Ahead of her visit, Peter Fonagy, the charity’s chief executive said: “It’s a very significant step on our journey to try and establish a good mental health for children and young people in England”.
“To get somebody who puts alot of emphasis on supporting it, that’s absolutely brilliant”.
