Karin Kanzuki is part of Street Fighter 5’s roster, lending more credence to the the belief the game is a sequel to Alpha 3.
One of Street Fighter Alpha 3’s more obscure characters will be returning for the new game, as Capcom announce a new community building tool. Her V-Skill lets Karin lunge forward with a palm strike and knock down opponents, while her V-Trigger kicks off with a strong attack and then gives players the chance to combine it with all sorts of follow-ups, from overhead strikes to low sweeps, flying throws, or a backdash. Here’s Capcom’s quick overview of Karin if you’re not familiar with the character: Karin is the young heiress to the Kanzuki Zaibatsu, a global financial conglomerate that possesses vast wealth and resources. A dash move helps her get in close, and her modular V-trigger can be adapted to outwit opponents. Karin is known for her rivalry with Sakura, who was most recently featured in Super Street Fighter 4 and has heavy ties to series icon Ryu. It can also be charged for a split second, giving it improved hit and block properties.
Karin channels her inner Ki to unlock the true potential of the Kanzuki fighting style, giving her access to the Guren Ken attack, which in itself possesses over half a dozen different follow ups and variations.
This online community interface will allow players to connect with other Street Fighter V owners around the world.
The Capcom Fighters Network is also mentioned on the Playstation blog. Karin was included in Street fighter V because she placed first in a fan poll conducted by Capcom. Throw a fireball into the comments section below.
