In the latest saga of “Frank Ocean’s Musical Return May Be Just A Dream”, the singer has now cancelled his performance at this weekend’s FYF Fest for undisclosed reasons.
Fans have become increasingly vocal in their frustration with Ocean recently, after a July album release date given by the singer himself came and went without any new music or comment. This is West’s third festival turn in L.A.in less than a calendar year, playing at Wango Tango in May and last year’s Made In America Festival.
Ocean, whose new album – the follow-up to 2012′ Channel Orange – is due to appear any minute now, “decided on his own terms to cancel his appearance”, according to a press release.
Ocean’s publicist released a statement early Friday morning regarding the cancellation of the Los Angeles music festival.
Other musicians performing on the Saturday includes are Bloc Party, Chet Faker, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Purity Ring, Run the Jewels, Dinosaur Jr., Savages, Simian Mobile Disco, Jon Hopkins, The Drums, Kaytranada, Shlohmo, and Cold Cave.
While Sunday will see the likes of Morrissey, Flume, Solange, FKA Twigs, and more take to the stage.
Kanye West will replace Frank Ocean as the Saturday night headliner at FYF Fest in Los Angeles.
