Today, the summer of Mourinho continued as he once again stirred things up in Chelsea’s season opener.
Begovic will face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday after Thibaut Courtois was sent off for sending Bafetimbi Gomis crashing to the ground in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City on Saturday.
Manchester City play West Brom on Monday night in the final match of the opening weekend, but it is nearly impossible to draw any firm conclusions with teams so clearly in need of time to settle in to the nine month campaign.
The Blues claimed the championship at a canter last term, but I can’t seeing it being so straightforward this time around.
Having romped to the Championship title, Bournemouth are expected to make a mark in the Premier League, but manager Eddie Howe has warned his players that he will not show them “foolish loyalty”. You can be a better team with one or two new players and be a better team, with the same people.

They are looking for signs that they are ready to mount a sustained assault on Chelsea’s title.
And while this result is unlikely to force a late change of policy in the final weeks of the transfer window, criticism is sure to mount if Chelsea suffer many more disappointments.
