Land Rover has announced that it will launch the new Discovery Sport in India on September 2, 2015.
We had previously reported that assembly of the Land Rover Discovery Sport has commenced in full swing at the company’s Pune facility, and that bookings have also started at authorized dealers. It is believed that that the Land Rover Discovery Sport will come between Rs 45 lakh- Rs 70 lakh (ex showroom Delhi). Expect a good demand for the Discovery Sport as it goes up against competition like the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLE, the Audi Q5, the BMW X3 and the Volvo XC60. That said, the funky headlamp cluster and the typically Land-Rover front grille make the Discovery sport’s identity unmistakable. Prices of the new vehicle will be disclosed at the time of the launch.
The Land Rover range in India includes the flagship Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery 4, and locally manufactured Range Rover Evoque.
The new Land Rover Discovery Sport will come with features like cruise control, Remote anti-theft alarm system, 4-wheel ABS, Daytime running lights, Advanced Park Assist, cruise and audio controls on steering wheel, rear view camera, dual zone climate controls, Electro-chromatic inside rear-view mirror, AM/FM stereo, USB connection and Bluetooth wireless data link. It uses a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that is available in two states of tune – 150PS and 190PS.
