Jason Peters thinks Sam Bradford throws like Aaron Rodgers

According to the Philly Inquirer, “a true quarterback competition hasn’t materialized yet” between Mark Sanchez and Sam Bradford. “I’m ready”, said Darlene Smith.

If Kelly is as smart as we all think he is, he cannot therefore be blind to the fact that his support of wide receiver Riley Cooper has provided the undercurrent of all the sniping done by the likes of LeSean McCoy, Tre Thomas, ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith, and, last but not least, recently deposed cornerback Brandon Boykin. Bradford hasn’t been flawless, either, occasionally missing a throw or making a questionable decision. “Right now, we’re just competing, getting reps”. Each time he takes off on a scramble, he reminds Kelly that he is the one quarterback on the roster, who can execute the running part of his offense the best because he adds the run threat. – Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, comparing Kinne, who went from quarterback to wide receiver/running back, to the Detroit Tigers double-play combination in the 1980s.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has at once been hailed and mocked for his unconventional approach to building a football program. “We’re not looking at him at any other position”. “It’s one thing to get reps in 7-on-7 or watching on film, but it’s another thing to get them live”.

PLAY OF THE DAY: During a red-zone drill, Tim Tebow started to roll to his right, where several defenders seemed to be waiting for him. “We also have a pretty structured day where guys are in meetings”.

Tebow still has a considerable amount of work to do to make this squad.

Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice – “Tim Tebow had a really good day, and more specifically, he had a terrific series in which he threw three passes down the field that were all on the money”.

“He can’t relate and that makes him uncomfortable”, Boykin communicated to CSNPhilly.com.

Alonso’s knee is just fine, but he does have a concussion, the origin of which the team has not revealed. S Walter Thurmond and CB Nolan Carroll are likely to win those spots, but they toiled with the second team defense again.

Chip Kelly knows only one way to play, and that’s fast. Whitlock argues that Kelly has created an echo-chamber on his coaching staff with people to whom he can relate. “I thought there was a big improvement in terms of where he was”. His footwork and hand placement and things like that have really improved, but now when you get to days like this, hopefully, we’ll be able to take the next step with him.

Eagles Practice observations: xThe Eagles held their sixth practice of training camp on Friday.

They worked on ways to go down in game situations without hurting themselves or exposing themselves to more risk of injury than is already present. Bradford is on track to line up behind center for the first time since he tore the ACL in his left knee for the second straight year, doing so this time in a preseason game at Cleveland.

Nevertheless, Shurmur reiterated how happy he was that Kelly made the trade to get Bradford. “I think he’s getting players that are trying to prove themselves when they’re coming off injuries”, said Josh Sholly. “I want to practice with great effort and continue to progress out here. But the way my knee feels now, it feels great”.
