Apple patched the exploits used by the TaiG jailbreak tool in iOS 8.4.1 and iOS 9 continues to do so.
People who want to maximize the customization of their iPhones can finally do so with the release of the iOS 8.4.1 for iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone devices. The company has been trying to outsmart the jailbreakers and make them second-guess Apple’s next moves as far as its iOS is concerned.
Apple has just released its newest platform, iOS 9, for its mobile devices. There were also rumors that floated around of Apple patching up 8.4.1 when it was still in beta, hence not allowing people to jailbreak iOS 8.4.
Both the TaiG and Pangu team have stated that they are working on an iOS 9 jailbreak, but we haven’t heard anything from either one of them, yet.
Keep an eye on our blog, as we will keep you updated, as soon as anything new related to iOS 9 jailbreak will be available. At this moment, things are looking good in the jailbreak community and we are confident that either TaiG or Pangu or another team will manage to jailbreak iOS 9.
These problems aside, the Pangu and TaiG teams have made this summer a very colorful one. Pangu showed at the conference that it was able to jailbreak iOS 8.4.1 on an iPhone 6. Apple has also since stopped signing iOS 8.4.1, according to the article, so downgrades aren’t possible anymore. The iOS 9 jailbreak will be indeed be available, but since iOS 9.1 is in the beta phase, it’s recommended to wait for the public release and then start thinking about jailbreaking it, in order to enjoy new features and tweaks. This makes it all the more important for users with a jailbroken iOS 8.4 to stay away from the update.
However, it seems that Apple is becoming more astute about the ways of the jailbreak teams.
Pangu has already revealed in its website the details of the Apple iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak even if it has yet to officially release it. According to Pangu, it has discovered the 0day kernel vulnerabilities that are meant to control the battery portion of the iOS-operated devices.
