Intel® Core™ M processors, which can offer twice the performance of leading premium tablets7, will now include brand levels Intel Core m3, m5 and m7 processors to provide people with more clarity and choice in finding the Intel Core M processor-based device that best meets their specific needs.

Describing the new “Skylake” line of Core processors as the “best ever” processors, Intel said that the processors – which will take barely half a second to start – will herald the next generation of PCs. “They enable state-of-the-art experiences like voice control and removing the hassle of managing passwords, as well as enhanced security”.

Aside from performance enhancements, new graphic capabilities, and the promise of better battery life, the 6th Gen Intel Core and Intel Xeon platforms will offer a variety connection options.

Intel kicked off proceedings at IFA 2015 with an introduction to its 6th generation Intel Core processors. The microarchitecture of the new prototypes will be featured in additional chips that are planned for release in the last quarter of 2015. The two companies hope to boost demand for PCs in a shrinking market with their new hardware and software.

As of Wednesday, more than 800 systems using Skylake will be launched, and Intel has nearly 50 different kinds of processors that will be coming out in the next few weeks, according to CNET. Intel says that we should expect more devices that offer Thunderbolt 3 for USB-C, the universal, compact port that we first saw on Apple’s latest Macbook, earlier this year.

Intel famously follows a Tick/Tock cycle strategy when it rolls out its chips – Skylake is the “tock” part, which means it uses the same 14-nanometer architecture as Broadwell, but comes with lots of design enhancements. Intel forecasts delivery of 48 processors pertaining to its 6th generation, which would feature an Intel Pro graphics and Intel Iris.

The firm already has facial recognition technology in its RealSense cameras and the presentation showed this technology being used to gain entrance to your auto, as well as giving “eyes” to drones, which can then man oeuvre around obstacles on their own. The company will also deliver Intel Xeon E3-1500M processors for mobile workstations and 6th Generation Intel vPro for business and enterprises. With varying Thermal Design Power i.e. 4.5 watts for ultrabooks and fanless notebooks to 91 watts for workstations and gaming machines; the offerings are likely to satisfy all users.
