Hyundai had revealed a few teaser images last week of the 2016 Elantra and now they have taken it a step further by revealing sketches depicting the interior of the vehicle.

It appears that the upscale treatment will carry over to the cabin as the 2017 Hyundai Elantra will have a streamlined, design with a simpler center console. The minimalist exterior tone is reflected inside where the styling clearly targets the German competitors in both tone and appearance.

The sedan gets two displays- one for the infotainment system and other for the climate control. The affinity of European customers for German styled cars is obvious because more non-continental automakers are adopting the trend and use the likes of Volkswagen or BMW as sources of inspiration. It is set to showcase a very comprehensive infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay services, along with the usual music streaming capabilities.

The new model will come with some advanced safety tech as well, such as forward-collision warning with automatic braking, radar cruise control on some variants, pedestrian detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot warning.

The next Elantra’s engine lineup will reportedly be headlined by a new 1.6 litre T-GDI turbocharged engine – said to make 175 hp – paired to Hyundai’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
