The streaming site released a trailer for the upcoming season, teasing scenes of Lahiri learning how to balance her life now that she’s becoming a mother. “That’s the show people know and love”.

Kaling says there’s almost no distinction underneath Hulu’s banner. “The show is going to look and feel like the cinematic, amusing show it’s always been”.

The show originally aired on Fox in 2012 and follows Mindy (Kaling) as she works as an OB/GYN and navigates her romantic relationship with her co-worker, Danny played by Chris Messina. Is there hope for Mindy and Danny after all? The opener “picks up proper have been we left off, so Danny is in India and Mindy is in New York Metropolis”, Kaling says.

In the season 4 premiere episode, pregnant Mindy, with no whereabouts of Danny in India, starts imagining what her life would have been if she had not met Danny when “Days Of Summer” star Joseph Gordon Levitt makes an appearance as her husband in her imaginary alternate reality world.

Having a child on set (nicely, infants; a number of infants are on standby for the present) has been “actually enjoyable”, she says. I’m a godparent, so I’ve been around babies a lot.

Discovering Leo was “just a little hard as a result of I’m Indian (and) Chris is Italian”, she says.
