During high winds, a travelling art exhibition weighing over 100kgs came loose and wrecked havoc in a US street.
The ball, being so large, is of course art. now on display at The Toledo Museum of Art, Kurt Perschke’s RedBall Project has previously been exhibited around the globe, and a big gust of wind sent the ball rolling around once again.
A bystander captured the ball’s brief jaunt as it turned the corner from Madison Avenue onto St. Clair Street, grazing a stop sign and rolling over parked cars. “The wind picked up, and it popped up and just started going”.
People took selfies and kids did their best to try to move it.
Museum staff members who raced after the ball, were finally able to bring it a standstill, before it could do any real damage.
The ball eventually was corralled and returned to the museum, where it can be viewed through the weekend.
And luckily for web surfers everywhere, one Instagram user caught the whole thing on camera!
He said this week’s incident was a mishap and he plans to keep the ball in place going forward.
Perschke, the artist behind the red ball project, has been traveling the world for 15 years-placing this ball in alleys and anywhere it will fit.
