It’s safe to say HITMAN is the biggest venture we’ve ever undertaken at Io-Interactive. The studio will be releasing “a good chunk” of Hitman when it launches in March 2016, and then will release remaining locations over a certain time period. Whether it’s not properly scheduling, poor project management or just unsuspecting occurrences during development, 2015 has received what seems like more delays for games than any other year.
Hitman is set to be a more open game, returning to the roots of titles like Blood Money while adding extra depth through continual post-release content updates. IO estimated that its Paris level is six times the size of Hitman: Absolution’s largest stage, Streets of Hope.
Today’s news comes from the Hitman website that points the delay at IO Interactive wanting to add more launch content to the game.
“We’re striving to create a series of living, breathing worlds in those locations and we get pretty obsessed about every detail that you’ll experience”, IO Interactive said. “And in the end, that’s what we’re all looking for”, the company explained.
Speaking on the official site, Io said: “We want to make absolutely sure you all get the best possible experience when you join, so we’ve made the hard decision to move the initial release date to March 2016”.
The publisher and developer Io Interactive will reveal more details about their release plans for Hitman next week.
Yet another game delayed to 2016.
