The residents of Colorado are passionate about the outdoors, the Denver Broncos, legalized marijuana and, apparently, their right to physically protect public parking spots at all costs.
Those who have driven in downtown Denver know parking can be a nightmare, but video of what one woman did to save a spot near Larimer Square has gone viral. And when they do, you better bet that someone’s going to put it on the Internet.
“You can’t do that!” someone is heard shouting.
The confrontation brings up an interesting question: Is reserving a parking spot illegal in Denver?
A man shot video of a physical altercation that took place between a woman and an SUV on the streets of Denver earlier this month and posted the footage to YouTube.
She then threatens to call police, and turns toward O’Connor, saying “she’s running me over”. They say the woman shouldn’t be in the street unless she’s in a crosswalk. “You’re running me over!”
The white SUV was not moving at the time.
Can’t see the video?
O’Connor stops recording but said during the confrontation, the male driver ran over to a nearby cop to get his attention, but the cop just drove off.
‘Let’s be real. If she got that spot, her tires would’ve most likely been slashed’.
O’Connor said he recorded the video because he has never witnessed anything so ridiculous. You’ve probably seen them before on parking meters.
