Appearing on “The Lead with Jake Tapper”, Carson added that Planned Parenthood is “an organization whose founder believed in eugenics”, a reference to Margaret Sanger, and added, “even today, the plurality of their clinics are in minority communities”.
“They partner with Planned Parenthood and they get part of the money because we pay them to use their facilities”, she added. It made headlines earlier this month when it began releasing undercover videos of Planned Parenthood officials talking about the selling of fetal tissue. She also called those who released the video “nothing but militant anti-abortion extremists”.
“I was only shocked at the fact that the pro-life side got a video, but I wasn’t really shocked because I knew this was going on”, said Julie Rosati of Care Net Pregnancy Center of CNY.
“In Minnesota we don’t actually have a fetal tissue donation program for any of the three states this Planned Parenthood serves – Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota”, Planned Parenthood’s Jen Aulwes said.
The protest is scheduled for noon at the Planned Parenthood building on Poplar Avenue.
“This was an orchestrated opportunity for anti-abortion folks, including those in Congress, to make a statement accusing Planned Parenthood of illegal activity which is simply not true”, said Zdravecky.
“This rally and efforts like it are nothing but part of a decades-long campaign to deceive the public, terrorize women and their doctors, and attempt to take away basic healthcare services, including abortion, in Tennessee.”
Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, told reporters on Monday that the videos definitely caught Planned Parenthood by surprise.
The Daily Dot online newspaper reported Monday that a hacking group had gained access to Planned Parenthood’s website databases and the names and email addresses of its employees.
A group of concerned taxpayers plans to protest funding for Planned Parenthood.
The event, #WomenBetrayed, is one of several being held across the country this summer that are sponsored by the “Students for Life of America”.
“How sad is it that nearly no media observer thinks there is any chance the U.S. Department of Justice would actually investigate whether Planned Parenthood and these senior officials have violated federal criminal laws?”
