Ruth Porat, who will be chief financial officer of both Alphabet and Google, will help oversee the adoption of the new structure, which will be introduced in phases in the coming months.

Today Google is a rampaging juggernaut.
Now onwards Google Inc. will be owned by its holding company Alphabet Inc. Technologists build better solutions, better products, better experiences. I’m not sure anyone could deny that.
Alphabet is a collection of companies, the largest being Google, which will now be slimmed down and made more efficient. Don’t overlook this announcement – it’s huge news.
Relieved of the hefty administrative chores related to managing the Google colossus, the company’s research arm can give more attention to things like Internet connectivity balloons, Google Fi and wearables.
The restructuring will bring a lot of changes to what is easily one of the world’s most well-known companies. The largest of which, of course, is Google.
