The refugees refused to register with Danish authorities, which would mean having to apply for asylum in Denmark or returning to Germany, whereas they want to seek asylum in Sweden.
In Stockholm, Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said European Union rules under which refugees should be registered in the country where they first arrive must be upheld and the decision to send refugees on to Sweden was “unfortunate”.
Denmark has become the latest flashpoint in Europe’s migrant crisis, with the continent bitterly split over how to cope with the vast numbers of refugees pouring across its borders. But, she says, “For someone to get a fine in Denmark, it’s a very small risk to take, if you compare to what these people are fleeing from and what they’ve experienced”.
Finland’s centre-right government proposed increasing some taxes to help cover the costs of refugees coming into the country.
“They left us without tents, without blankets, on the ground… without toilets for two days”, said one of the marchers.
Authorities in Germany on Wednesday reported another suspected arson attack on a refugee shelter, and migrants trying to cross Denmark said the police there had physically forced them onto buses.
The Danish government took out adverts in four Lebanese newspapers this month to outline government measures including cuts of up to 50 percent in benefits for asylum seekers.

Denmark’s train operator said early Thursday it expected rail traffic across the German border to resume later in the day, after police ordered services to be suspended due to an influx of migrants.
Sweden is widely considered among the most welcoming countries toward asylum-seekers.
“There is more tightening to come and that is because the flow [of asylum seekers] to Denmark is too large”, said immigration minister Inger Stojberg on Danish television recently.
Germany pledged a $6.6 billion aid package to provide housing and other assistance as France and Britan offered to take in a combined 44,000 refugees over the next five years.
Spain on Wednesday said it would accept a quota of nearly 15,000 extra migrants migrants set by the EU.
Sweden and its advanced social system are a coveted final destination for many refugees, in particularly Syrians, to whom Stockholm has promised asylum.
Hoejbjerg said there had been no prior discussions with his own government or with Sweden before deciding to allow the migrants to move on freely.
