The fire happened around 7:30 p.m.in the 1200 block of Sleepy Horse Lane.

One person was injured and others were trapped by a fire burning several Maryland town houses on Wednesday night after residents called to report hearing an explosion, officials said.

The fire department reported that crews discovered at least one townhouse completely engulfed in flames upon their arrival Wednesday evening.

Two people sustained burn and blast injuries, including a Baltimore Gas and Electric worker.

Fire officials say two people were transported to a hospital from the scene, and multiple residents were being evaluated for smoke inhalation.

“The explosion was so loud…I fell on the ground”, Gershman said. Gershman’s relative Ira elaborates, “We were 10,12 feet from it It was unbelievable”.

At least six homes were damaged.
