Let’s wait until Square Enix officially announces it. Since the Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster is a major success for them, selling more than half million copies in Japan alone, this news shouldn’t be surprising if it turns out to be true. Developed exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS, this game allows one – four players to dive into dungeons to collect crystals scattered throughout the world while battling classic Final Fantasy enemies. During this event, Distant Worlds composer Arnie Roth revealed in a Q/A session with fans that Final Fantasy XII Remake is in development.
Now, it is far more likely that Roth and Sakamoto meant “remaster”, as Final Fantasy 12 still holds up very well to this day in the graphics department. The news comes from Final Fantasy Network which attended the concert and recorded a video when Roth makes the announcement.
As Rogers points out, there was plenty of excitement surrounding the announcement of the remake of Final Fantasy 7.
For example, will it only include Final Fantasy 12, or will it also include Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wings?
We’ve reached out to Square Enix for comment, but don’t expect the publisher to confirm or deny. According to Final Fantasy Network, the video was taken at a concert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
