Premier League champions Chelsea have been looking to sign more defenders in the current transfer window with England global John Stones on their radar as well.
Chelsea have angered Everton manager Roberto Martinez, due to their aggressive pursuit of defender John Stones.
In a TV interview broadcast on Wednesday, Terry welcomed the possibility of Stones becoming his long-term successor, delivering a statement that Martinez believes breached the etiquette that exists between Premier League clubs and possibly Football Association rules. I’m just speaking in general, ” said Mourinho, ahead of Saturday’s season-opener with Swansea at Stamford Bridge.
He has been tipped as the successor to John Terry for the former England captain’s comments have certainly not gone down well with Martinez. Martinez has said this comment is “illegal” and as accused him of trying to tap up Stones.
Awkward fluffing aside, Mourinho’s words continue the theme he set at the beginning of the summer of Chelsea not making any major moves, relying on improved depth, and individual improvement from all the players to defend our title.
“We have a fantastic relationship between the two clubs”. It is wrong and it shouldn’t happen.
Roberto Martinez insists Everton’s lack of transfer activity is no cause for concern.
“I said when I returned here two years ago that I have a special feeling for this club and nothing changed”.
“Young players with big roles will get attention but as long as we are financially in a good position that we can not control our assets then nobody should be anxious about that situation”. But we are a bit light and need the right players to help the group.’. The moment you start a game of one-upmanship with football managers you are in trouble, because all of them are hypocrites.
“I’ve loved every minute I’ve been here, with the fans having made me feel so welcome from day one, as well as the players and staff”.
“You can be a better team with one or two new players”.
