Although Dungeon Defenders II is still in development, it will be available on the PlayStation 4 on September 29.

With Early Access on Sony’s mind for over a year, developer Trendy Entertainment announced today that a pre-alpha version of Dungeon Defenders 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 on September 29 in North America and Europe. Next week’s release will not be the full and final version, though.

Last but not the least, in order to access the game you will have to purchase a currency bundle on PlayStation Store on the game’s launch day.

But please note that Dungeon Defenders II is still under development! Local co-op will be combined with online play, and Trendy affirms that PS4 will get precedence over PC for certain features, but the two platforms will ultimately end up being the same.

As far as we’re aware this is the first real early access like title releasing on PS4.

Unlike the PC version, the PS4 port will, naturally, feature controller support, and also have a two-player local co-op mode. If you want to wait for the free to play edition then you can do so and support the game by buying “ethical” micro-transactions, though what those will be is unknown.
