“It’s a combination of anticipating potential problems and responding to requests from theater owners”.

The cast of the film “Straight Outta Compton” joined Ice Cube on “The View” including: O’Shea Jackson Jr., Jason Mitchell and Corey Hawkins.

Now that everyone has heard the excellent new Dre album, attention now turns to the album’s inspiration, “Straight Outta Compton“, the NWA biographical film that inspired Dre to actually release an album.

The N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton is hitting theaters, and many have scrutinized its portrayal of the era it depicts.

The Los Angeles Police Department told CNNMoney on Thursday that they were boosting security around theaters showing the film.

“We are hiring a little extra security in a couple of our theaters”, said Phil Zacheretti, chief executive of Phoenix Theatres Entertainment, a Knoxville, Tenn., chain with 10 theaters in Maryland, Kansas and several other states. “Isn’t this the very sort of thing they were rapping about, like, this is what you expect from young black men, so we better beef up security”.

“With all the police violence happening across the nation it might be relevant to some extent”, said movie goer Fernando McDougle.

Like another film in recent months, “Selma” about the life of Martin Luther King Jr., “Compton” is being released at a time of heightened racial tension and numerous film’s scenes eerily echo what is still happening in 2015.

Fourteen years later in the same magazine, the near-billionaire producer spoke frankly about the incident: “I made some f***ing awful mistakes in my life”.

On when Dre new N.W.A were a big deal: Dr. Dre: “When I saw Axl Rose wearing an N.W.A cap in one of his videos!”

Ice Cube also gave his take and says that while the group didn’t necessarily participate in protest, their music provided them a platform to let everyone know what was happening in their community.
