In just over an hour, Destiny servers will be down for scheduled maintenance on September 3.
Bungie has also been reported of releasing a teaser trailer for the upcoming Taken King’s raid called King’s Fall.
The servers went offline at 4pm BST (8am PT / 11am ET) and will return at around 10pm BST (2pm PT / 5pm ET) should everything go to plan.
Last night, after it being teased for the last three weeks, we finally got a look at the equipable sword in Destiny: The Taken King. While the maintenance is being carried out, some Bungie.net sign-in and Companion app services may be restricted during the six-hour maintenance block. Bungie shares more on what to expect from Destiny 2.0. The outage was also reported to be worldwide, thus making the game unplayable, everywhere, due to a scheduled maintenance across all platforms.
Aside from the massive success in sales, Destiny also tabbed the most followers at around 16 million by the first month of this year. The Destiny King’s Fall release date is September 18th.
After update 2.0 for the social shooter is delivered on September 8, gamers will see that the Crucible is offering new battle modes and new maps which they can try out, although the new subclasses for Guardians will not yet be implemented. This is a giant spaceship near Saturn, that plays a role in the new release. However, with the new Light level system – which calculates your overall attack and defense based on the gear instead – there will be less of an overwhelming challenge from fighting level 41 enemies.
Game of Throne’s Peter Dinklage was also removed from the game, and all his lines and dialogues were re-recorded by Nolan North.
