Chris Pratt remembered his late father in a Twitter post on Labor Day Weekend. In an interview with GQ soon after his father’s death, Pratt described his father as a “hard worker” and an “old school kind of dad”.
“Your to do list: 1)have kids 2)play outside 3)teach them to fish 4)take pictures”, Pratt tweeted on Saturday. “Thanks Dad. Miss you man”. A young version of him and his brother Cully Pratt posing next to their father and holding fishing rods is in the photo. According to Entertainment Tonight, Dan “had been ill with multiple sclerosis for many years, so while his passing wasn’t a surprise, it took its toll nonetheless”.
Chris recently shared a photo of him and Cully standing proudly in front of a slew of sizable fish.
Although Dan was pretty much watching TV for the last 10 years of his life, Chris knew he appreciated what his actor son had become. So I compartmentalised it all and dealt with it in my own way, but not openly for people to see.
His efforts may have helped him keep his cool on set, but Chris admitted that he did lash out at least once on his own time.
Pratt went on to say that, though his father was never very vocal about his feelings, the actor was pleased he’d reached success through films like Guardians while dad was still alive to see it.
The family that can be proud of moments like this together is a solid one.
