Capcom registers Umbrella Corps in both Europe and Japan

Things appear to be happening once again in the world of Resident Evil, all under the name “Umbrella Corps“. In the “Resident Evil” game franchise, “Umbrella Corps” is a biotech company that is responsible for the plague that causes humans to turn into zombies.

A new Resident Evil game may be inbound soon, as Capcom has gone ahead and registered a trade mark for Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps in Europe and Japan, prompting speculation that Capcom may be gearing up to announce a new instalment in its flagship franchise. Now a more specific version has appeard at the Japenese Patent and Trademark Office have a trademark that confirms what it is. Now it seems confirmed with a trademark registering by the publisher being lodged in Japan for Biohazard Umbrella Corps. As stated by Gamepur, “Biohazard” is actually the Japanese name for “Resident Evil“. A wide range of gaming platforms is also mention, including “portable consoles with LCD screens, TV Home Consoles and Mobile”.

Fans have been cautiously waiting to see if Resident Evil 7 will make good on Capcom’s promise to return the series to its roots in survival horror.
