The 28-year-old Vampire Diaries star announced the news with a photo of herself with the 35-year-old Fray guitarist Monday on Instagram.

“Sometimes a Saturday is best spent painting t-shirts and taking an awesome family photo”, she captioned the pic.

King himself is pictured wearing a matching white T-shirt bearing the word “Superdad”. King already has two daughters, and they were present for the announcement on Instagram. Later, the couple married during a French Quarter-themed wedding in October 2014. Candice’s TVD co-stars, like Nina Dobrev, Kat Graham and Michael Trevino, among others, attended the handsome New Orleans nuptials.

Obviously, Hollywood can get creative and work around an expecting co-star, but the writers would have a challenge weaving a pregnancy storyline into the plot because, as all us Vampire Diaries die-hards know, vampires cannot technically get pregnant because their bodies are frozen in time.

According to Julie Plec, executive producer on The Vampire Diaries, Accola’s character Caroline will have a bad run in with villain Lily and her Heretic daughters, Mary-Louie and Nora.

Front and center was Accola’s growing belly, which was adorned with a big heart surrounded by colorful letters spelling out “baby” and sweet messages. This will be Ms. Accola’s first baby!
