Much hype and buzz surrounded the revelation of the property’s listing on the market, not because of people interested in purchasing it, but mainly because of their enthusiasm to take a peek of what’s inside the 39-year-old iconic “Flintstones” House, Realtor.com reported. That’s because the so-called “Flintstones House” in the town of Hillsborough, a half hour south of San Francisco, just hit the market for a cool $4.2 million.

Meuschke is showing the home by appointment only and doesn’t plan on hosting any open house events. “Burning Man artist, Dan Das Mann, fabricated interesting steel coiled doors”. The house was built by spraying concrete over a wire mesh moulded by balloons. According to Redfin, the last time the Flintstone House was sold was in 1996 for $800,000. During the 1980s the residence was called the “Barbapapa” house after the children’s books of that name and a subsequent cartoon show.

In an interview, real estate agent Judy Meuschke told NBC Bay Area’s Ian Cull that the owner of the house wish to remain anonymous and that they wanted just to move-on after 19 years of living in the landmark.
