Bremen’s late goals inflicted Hoffenheim their third loss in four games meanwhile Schalke craved out a 2-1 victory over clinical Mainz to conclude the 4th round of Bundesliga on Sunday.

Zlatko Junuzovi, opened the scoring for the Green Whites in the 45th minute before Eduardo Vargas restored parity for the home team four minutes out of intermission and the score stayed at 1 – 1 until Ujah popped up with an injury time victor after being set up by Claudio Pizarro.

The win sees Bremen move up to fourth in the Bundesliga standings, while are in 15th and are still searching for their first win.

Pizarro, who rejoined Bremen for his third stint after fulfilling his contract with Bayern Munich, came on in the 82nd and eluded two defenders to set up Ujah for the decisive goal in injury time.

In Sunday’s other fixture, Schalke bounced back from a draw with Darmstadt and a defeat to Wolfsburg to beat Mainz 2-1 at the Veltins Arena, despite Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s early missed penalty.

Joel Matip handed Schalke the lead after 37 minutes, as turned home a cross from Johannes Geis, before the visitors leveled matters through Yunus Malli.

Huntelaar atoned for his earlier error, though, securing all three points for his side with a fine strike just after the hour mark.

“If we’re given the time to develop, if young players don’t become too big too soon, then we’ll really progress”.
