Pac-Man is now recovering from surgery on the shoulder injury that hampered him as he lost to Mayweather back in May, but he should be fit to fight next year, per Davies.
He also said that he has gotten a lot stronger and wiser and this fight will be a friendly competition. If it makes sense financially for both of us, then I think the fight will definitely take place….
Manny Pacquiao has declared that his injured shoulder is totally healed, reflecting his eagerness to return to the ring. I think it would be unbelievable. The fight would take place next year either in the Middle East or Las Vegas. All the major sports are going over there now, so why not take boxing there.
“Yes, I think the fight can happen”, Khan, a former two-time world champion, told the Mirror.
“Yes, I think the fight can happen”, he added.
“We had the same trainer, Freddie Roach, so we know of each other.
It’s a great story”, said Khan.
Khan also stated why he will be the one taking this fight as Pacquiao’s skills have began to deteriorate while his just keeps on improving. The 36-year-old eight-division champion is still one of the biggest draws in boxing, and a clash between him with Khan would indeed be hotly anticipated.
Since linking up with the influential Al Haymon in April 2014, Khan has won all three of his fights at welterweight level.
Second, Pacquiao may require a tune up fight.
Recently, Khan announced that Top Rank CEO Bob Arum reached out to him to discuss a possible Pacquiao-Khan showdown in Dubai either in March or April, The National reported. If that option came up, I’d grab it with both hands.
Although Pacquiao is lobbying for a rematch with Mayweather in early 2016, the leading candidate to face the Pinoy pugilist in his in-ring comeback is Amir Khan, who once trained under the tutelage of Freddie Roach before acquiring the services of Virgil Hunter.
