The Eagles of Boston College had a field days as you may saywith a 76-0 romp over the Bisons of Howard The Eagles once again dominated the scoring with a strong ground game. “It felt great that we won a game, but I don’t think anybody walked out of the film session on Sunday and felt too great”.
The Eagles defense proceeded to force another pair of three-and-outs, increasing the Bison deficit to 28-0 with a 43-yard drive which concluded in a five-yard touchdown run by running back Jon Hilliman, a lead which quickly became 35-0 after a 15-yard rushing touchdown by Rouse, his third of the game. Smith led the parade with 89 yards followed by tailbacks Myles Willis (77), Marcus Outlow (44) and Richard Wilson (42). Overall the Eagles had a total of 483 total yards.Howard finished the day with only eleven yards offensively.
Eagles starting quarterback Darius Wade played sparingly, completing 3 of 5 passes for 30 yards and one TD.
With a nationally televised game against Florida State on the horizon, the Boston College Eagles had all the reason to look ahead to next week.
All this came after both sides agreed at intermission to shorten the third and fourth quarters to 10 minutes each.
“Now we have to get ready for what’s coming down the barrel here in a very short week”, said Addazio.
“They were able to impose their will; we fought hard, and we’re going to continue to fight through it”, Howard head coach Gary “Flea” Harrell said via Howard Sports Information.
“There was nothing to be had by staying out there and keep banging around”.
Both squads posted victories in Week 1, with the Orange cruising to a 47-0 rout of the Rhode Island Rams, covering as 33.5-point favorites, while the Demon Deacons amassed 591 total yards in a 41-3 demolition of the Elon Phoenix, picking up the against-the-spread win as 27-point favorites.
