Police detectives have identified the man who tried to obtain a prescription illegally at a Reisterstown pharmacy and was fatally shot during a confrontation with a Baltimore County police officer.



The department says on its Twitter account that the shooting was reported shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday in the first block of Main Street. The man’s name was not immediately released. “The circumstances remain under investigation by the Homicide Unit”, according to a release from a police spokesperson. Investigators say a confrontation occurred between the two, and several shots were fired. Thursday’s statement said: “A weapon was not found”. Gray suffered a broken neck and six officers have been charged over his death.

A police officer chased the man on foot away from the pharmacy. Police said the video showed the man reaching around his back as if reaching for a weapon and pointing his hand at the officer.

The man shot on Wednesday was transported to Northwest hospital, where he was declared dead.
