The original game, featuring 5 intertwining character stories will also be available as part of the release.
I missed Odin Sphere when it first released, but as a huge fan of both Dragon’s Crown and Muramasa, I’m ready to try this one out next year. And enemies from the original game have a new thought logic to them, so you can play it with a fresh sense.
The details are very scarce at the moment, but just this morning Atlus and Vanillaware, creators of the upcoming Odin Sphere remake, Odin Sphere: Leifdrasir, are teaming for work on a new secret project. The side-scrolling 2D fantasy action RPG video game is heavily influenced by Norse Mythology concepts and features creative artwork and unique character designs.
Odin Sphere originally came out for the PS2 in 2007.
“We’re adding monsters that we weren’t able to add in the original version as mid-bosses in the new title”, responds Ohnishi. Numerous other enhancements have also been done to the combat system to provide smoother and faster gameplay.
The game will launch in Japan on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita on January 14, 2016. A worldwide release date has yet to be announced.
This remastery is going to be phenomenal. I can’t wait to see the updated visuals, new monsters and expanded world.
