Apple’s revamped Apple TV has a price, and it isn’t cheap.

The new Apple TV is priced at $149 for the 32 GB version and $199 for 64 GB.

The new Apple TV features a newly designed user interface and comes with its own App Store, something that has been missing from past models.

The UI of the all new Apple TV stays pretty much the same as the previous versions but the new features they announced are just wow!

“Our vision for TV is simple, and perhaps a little provocative: We believe the future of television is apps”. Their gaming initiative dwelled on casual, less-intense gaming as just one of the functions of Apple TV. However, Apple is not doing away with the physical remote, which has been redesigned for the new hardware. The remote can also act as a joystick to let users enjoy games in an interactive way. During playback, Siri also will skip back by a few seconds when someone uses the voice command: “What did she say?”

The Apple TV will be heavily based on the use of apps, much like on the company’s other products like the iPhone and iPad. Play a game on your phone and the game’s progress will be saved and can be later resumed on the Apple TV. Also demonstrated were shopping app Gilt and baseball’s MLB.com.

There’s a new UI, built-in universal search, a new remote and, as promised, a new App Store. That being said, Microsoft has a cunning plan to counter the Apple threat by releasing a Windows 10 as a downloadable update to all the Xbox One sold across the universe.

The new set top box includes built in screensavers that Apple have recorded, and voice control through personal assistant Siri. Your Apple TV also shows you the weather and we bet it’s a lot more accurate than the weatherman on your news channel! But Apple has often been criticised for taking its success in games for granted.

The Apple TV announcement was part of a two-hour presentation from Apple executives on Wednesday, September 9, at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. And now that Apple is finally making a move on the living room, here are four things it needs to do to have a hit.
