In case the bundle didn’t give it away, the first wave of Animal Crossing amiibo cards will arrive alongside the release of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer in each respective territory. We’ll know more about how they work once Happy Home Designer launches there at the end of the month. 100 cards will launch alongside the game, each sold in blind packs of three.
One card from each pack will be known as a “special”, although we aren’t sure exactly what this means.
What is slightly confusing about the European release is why the packs will only hold three cards.
Judging by a package design uploaded to Nintendo of Norway’s website, this is just the first in a series of cards the company has planned for Animal Crossing. The packs in America are released with six cards per pack, so why this difference is happening is unknown and slightly worrying.
There is no pricing information available yet for the U.S. or United Kingdom, but the Japanese packs will cost around 300 yen. The cards bring new characters into the game, which in turn bring new challenges and other items for the players to interact with.
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer focuses on the decorating and home-designing aspects of the Animal Crossing games.
