The details say that the process will be the same as Apple Pay and also details that Samsung Pay will be accepted from 21 August (the launch date of the Note 5).
Anyone that follows Android APK app updates may be aware that Wednesday is usually the day when Google rolls out software updates. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Apple Pay.
Android Pay is about to launch this week over in the US, at least according to leaks from a major fast food chain.
The rumor begins and ends with the notice of a few postings at various McDonald’s restaurants which convey the changes coming to McDonald’s mobile payment solutions, describing what Android Pay is and how customers will be able to use it, as well as what employees will need to do. There have not been official confirmations either from McDonald’s or Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG), which means that the leaked memos could be wrong to some extent.
We have no idea if the launch date listed by McDonalds of the 26th of August for Android Pay is correct, I guess we will find out later this week. However, Samsung said the UK would be the “first country in Europe” to get the new mobile payment service.
We can expect Google to make some sort of announcement before the payments service goes live, for now though Mountain View remains tightlipped on the matter.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Android Pay is expected to be available on smartphones that run Android KitKat or the latest version of the Android OS.
