The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister is now in the US.

The congress leader, Digvijaya Singh has married to Amrita Singh, a TV anchor and journalist.

Singh’s wife Asha passed away in 2013 after prolonged illness.

Photographs of Amrita with Mr Singh had appeared on Facebook previous year, after which both confirmed their relationship.

She said there was the big question of age between them, but she felt its not a big deal for her to take the decisions at all.

“Amrita is free to take any decision regarding her life after separating from me and I respect that”. We live in a modern, progressive India, and the constitutional and legal framework has empowered me to decide about my life and my life’s choices. Then I have chosen to marry Singh.

Her romantic pictures, which were widely circulated on the internet, were often shared with captions that termed her a “gold-digger” or judged him for marrying “his daughter” due to the age gap between them. Digvijay has four daughters and one son from his previous marriage. She added, “I just want to move ahead in my life with him and to continue the professional career with dignity”.
