Amazon to launch beer delivery service

While already available in select areas of cities including New York, Portland, Miami, Atlanta and Chicago, Amazon Prime customers in Seattle will be the first in the U.S.to have the option of ordering alcohol through the service’s mobile app.

Rapid News Network adds that a spokeswoman from Amazon told them that the company has opened two facilities in Seattle and Kirkland.

Amazon has offered restaurant takeout delivery in the past, but until now has mostly used third-party services itself to cycle or drive food to customers.

But those who live in cities where Prime Now is available can still get one-deliveries on “tens of thousands of items”, including milk, ice cream, toilet paper, televisions and, apparently, whole cooked ducks.

Wine, beer, and a small selection of spirits can now be delivered through Prime Now.

The etailer has launched two Prime Now hubs in King County to provide the speedy food and product offering, according to a press release.

The retail giant’s decision to carry out a trial phase for its Prime Now latest venture indicates Amazon’s careful planning towards strategizing its expansion plan.

Amazon customers in Nottingham may soon be able to order alcohol and have it delivered to their home within the hour. The bills don’t stop there, as there is an additional $7.99 charge per one-hour delivery, although if you can wait an extra hour, it’s completely free.
