The minute-long trailer shows Eubank checking into a hostel, testing out its bunk beds and taking advantage of its free wi-fi, before branding his overall experience “splendid” and “extraordinary”.
“The key thing in life is to be humble”.
In a panicked ramble of suggestions, he lists amongst others: “Arm Wrestling with Chas and Dave“, “Inner-City Sumo”, and of course “Youth Hosteling with Chris Eubank“… “Just be little. That way you have to nowhere to fall”, he declares while standing in the hostel’s kitchen.
Alan Partridge fans rejoice!
Apparently the eccentric former boxer had no idea why people kept asking him about youth hostels until recently, but now he has been persuaded to star in a trailer for the hypothetical show, commissioned by – you guessed it – Hostelworld.
When Alan Partridge, a fictional character in a comedy show of the same name, released his ideas for TV shows, no one thought that any of them would become a reality.
Eighteen years ago, Partridge, played by Steve Coogan, pitched the idea of “Youth Hostelling With Chris Eubank” to BBC executives, and now booking website Hostelworld has picked it up.
