The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is a nonprofit health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. “Sarah Cannon’s support of Light The Night Walk will bring much needed awareness to blood cancers and the need to invest in cures and ensure patients have access to treatments”. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.

The Light the Night Walk is one of the organization’s most impactful fundraising efforts: over $495 million has been contributed by Light the Night participants and donors since 1999. Thanks to research, survival rates for patients with many blood cancers have doubled, tripled and even quadrupled since the early 1960s. LLS-funded research has led to many of today’s most promising advances, including targeted therapies and immunotherapies.

Irvine, CA, September 22, 2015 -(PR.com)- A group of eGumball employees were excited to participate in the Light the Night walk for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society this past Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Sarah Cannon Cancer Network has facilities and programs in many Light The Night Walk communities, including its headquarters in Nashville, as well as its Denver, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, New Orleans and London markets.

He says the Mercy Cancer Center sees at least 20 cases of Acute Leukemia each year and about 5 to 10 patients with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in that same time period. “The walk, along with our fundraising campaign, have been wonderful opportunities to witness the generosity of my colleagues at Hikvision and the support from our business partners, families, and friends”, she remarked.

The executive director of the Gateway Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Debbie Kersting, talks with Christine Buck about the advances in research when it comes to fighting blood cancers.

Founded in 1949 and headquartered in White Plains, NY, LLS has chapters throughout the United States and Canada. Walkers will carry illuminated balloons to represent why they are walking; white is for survivors, red is for supporters and gold is for those who have lost a loved one to blood cancer.
