Erin Solari was so touched by the love between her grandparents, who have been married 73 years, that she filmed Howard, her granddad, as he sang to his dying wife.

Then, music starts filling the room and Howard and Laura serenade each other with their favorite love song: “You’ll Never Know” by Rosemary Clooney and Harry James.

Once Laura found out the video had gone viral she mentioned to her husband, “I told you Howard that I’d make you famous”.

‘At family gatherings, it was not uncommon for the two of them to sing this song together, each taking a verse and serenading the other, ‘ shared Erin.

They later performed it as a duet when they renewed their vows on their 50th wedding anniversary.

Erin says her grandmother has macular degeneration, so she can’t see much, but that “doesn’t stop her from looking deep into her love’s eyes”.

“This video is pretty awesome because she’s nearly completely blind and he’s fairly deaf, so it’s hard for them to communicate”, Solari said.

Solari wrote that “the outpouring of love [has] lifted everyone’s spirits…including Grandma’s!”

She also said that when Howard entered the hospital room, Laura immediately ‘asked if she could hold him’. This video was captured on September 12 in a hospice where Laura was admitted to spend her last days. Laura has now returned home to live out her remaining few days.

And Howard continues the line: ‘Soooo a million or more times’. As for the feedback, all the love and support we’ve gotten, being around my grandmother, I believe it maybe it had a little bit of an impact of her feeling better.
